Blown: a great shot at sucess
I find it intresting when I first hear a band, how many influences you can hear in that band and how music has merged so much in the last few years that simply calling one thing in a genere can be...
completley wrong, but in the most positive way. I chose to review the band Blown, because I am a big fan of blues and R&b music. Much to my suprise their first song on their website "Cry for help " is decidedly rock, As is there song "Stay". When I thinkof blues music I automatically gravitate to BB king and the old bluesemen of the south playing their guitars in smokey jazz clubs. This is not your grandaddy's blues and maybe thats nice. Diversity in music is what brings people togthher. These are born and raised Texas boys, forget your honey tonk bars. With influences from punk to rock, to blues. Front Cody Joe Tillman shows he has the pipes to not only be a frontman, but take you away to a different place emotionally. Mix that with Nick rogers on lead guitar, who it seems was pratically born to play gutiar and Austin Krecz on drums with sublty and strength, and Mike Alcayde hitting a slow bass you got a mix of great lyrics, catchy songs with a addicting beat, and a great start. Judging from their folllowong in Texas I think these boys have a great shot at sucess. And with the independent market garnering more and more credibilty and sucess, why shouldnt they?
